Overview

Climate Just is a free web tool and research framework developed by the Sustainability Research Institute at the University of Leeds. It combines climate hazard exposure data (flooding, overheating) with social vulnerability indicators to identify communities least able to cope with climate change impacts in England.

Key Features

  • Vulnerability mapping: Small-area indices combining hazard exposure, sensitivity and adaptive capacity
  • Hazard layers: Flood risk and urban heat exposure at Lower Super Output Area (LSOA) level
  • Social indicators: Deprivation, disability, age, income and housing quality data
  • Interactive explorer: Browser-based map with customisable indicator combinations

Who Is It For?

Local authorities, community organisations, public health bodies and researchers working on climate justice, equitable adaptation planning and social vulnerability in the UK context.
